1 ) What do you like best about Montrose?
The best thing about Montrose is we can live and be safe around other people we know. This is a great benefit to us.
2) What one thing would you change about Montrose to make it better?
The gas station because people in Montrose probably don’t like driving to 38 Special or Town and Country just to get gas and drive all the way back.
3) If money weren’t an issue what one thing would you like to see happen in Montrose?
The one thing I would want to see is all the people coming together to do one thing to improve our town. Like the community work day and the community garden. Is a great start.

Someone recently posed a question to me concerning if my becoming a member of Horizons had anything to do with my running for the office of Mayor of Montrose, after thinking about it, I found that being a Horizon member had played a very large part in my running for office. I considered that being in a position of trust, with help from the the community we could make our town a better place for all. This community has a very great story to tell and we as members need to work together to keep our community vibrant and keep our young people from leaving, we can only accomplish this by forgetting the sometime pettiness of things that bother us and start thinking of how things were, how things are now, and how we want Montrose to become in the future. Montrose is a fine community to live in and raise a family, we have a very fine school, swimming pool, daycare center, parks, RV park, we have much to offer and now we must get the word out. WE ARE MONTROSE ON THE MOVE

People in Montrose are considered poor because we don’t get what we always want.We are not living on the streets poor, but money doesn’t grow on trees. Some people need to ask a dollar for food. That’s what I think poverty is. We need to work together and help with this problem. Go Montrose!!

I think poverty is when you are having a hard time keeping food on the table. I hope all of you can keep food on your table. I do not think poverty is people sitting on the street begging for money or food. I do not see that in Montrose because we would help our friends and families. Is there a problem of proverty in Montrose? I hope not!! If so we need to all work together and make this problem go away.

Hi my name is Andrew. I think poverty is a bad thing for our community. I would dislike to be homeless, starving, and etc. In Montrose nobody should have deal with poverty. We all share and we are all good friends. In Montrose poverty is not a big problem. My friends all know what poverty means. We need to share and give!

Read and find out the definition of poverty through a Montrose fifth grade class. As their teacher, it makes me so proud to have them aware of this problem.
