HomeTown Competitiveness ( HTC )
Well day 1 of training is come and gone. Today was about how we should think outside the box. Start getting our young people thinking about how they could contribute to their communities. The youth of our communities are our secret weapon, get them involved and start to organize themselves and they will provide much needed ideas. The whole idea of HTC is based on 4 pillars these are Entrepreneurship, Transfer of Wealth, Youth and Leadership. Establishing an Entrepreneurial Development System or EDS. This system approach gets results by investing in people who have ideas. True entrepreneurs have ability to assemble a team and get people motivated. Tomorrow we will go into detail concerning the 4 pillars. Go Montrose………Tony

Day 2 was spent in great detail on how we can keep our wealth from leaving our communities and different ways to start Endowment programs. Endowments are the life blood of communities, we need to be able to keep the flow of wealth from leaving. Their is a term called wealth transfer that can accomplish this. I will be able to expand on this when we meet. This has been a super education for me and I hope to be able be teach it to our Horizon group. Go Montrose

Well we finished our HTC course with a session on Leadership, this is the fourth pillar in the chain. We need to get our young people and elders together to determine where we want to be 3, 5,7,10 years from now.It is important that we establish a Vision plan if we want Montrose to remain a viable community. We received very important ideas on how to form the many aspects required to induce wealth retention, how to establish Community Savings Accounts, the role of Leadership and the ideas generated by our young people. They ( Young People) are our greatest assets, Our Secret Weapon. Go Montrose
