It’s Time to CELEBRATE!

November 27th, 2007 by amyc

On Sunday, December 2nd at 12:00pm, we will be getting together to celebrate the completion of the Planning/Visioning process to help reduce poverty in our community.   EVERYONE is invited to come to the school common’s area for a FREE meal, fellowship, and to find out what plans and changes are in store for Montrose.  SANTA will be there to hand out special Montrose prizes to both kids and adults.  Free childcare will be available after the meal so your kids can play while you learn how you can become involved in any of the following four goals that will keep Montrose on the Move:

     1.  To improve the appearance of Montrose

     2.  The encourage the growth of Montrose

     3.  To provide more opportunities for all Montrose-area residents

     4.  To promote community spirit

All who attend will be able to take home their own copy of “Montrose on the Move - A Strategic Plan for the Future”.  This manual contains the above goals for the future of Montrose, as well as the implementation processes for achieving those goals.

Come and enjoy an afternoon of fun and fellowship, and get involved with the future of Montrose.  Our community needs YOU!

First visit to blog- it was difficult finding how to leave a comment - also how submit article or picture. I noticed on (Whitewood) other sites, links to KELO, etc. How can participants submit? Also, although I know it’s not true, it appears that Montrose CITY is invited to participate — but no others? How about making all the community - new and old - more welcome. Thanks CS and all for such a good start and all your hard community work! John and Mary

    John & Mary,

Thank you for your input and suggestions! If you are interested in posting blogs - rather than just comments - either Connie or I would be very happy to set you up. We are hoping to get more and more people blogging! It’s a great way for our community to keep in touch, and to offer suggestions.

It is true that the entire “Montrose community” is invited to participate, not just the city residents. If you have ideas to share on how to make members more welcome, let us know! We would be more than happy to implement them. Better yet, sign up as a blogger and share them with everyone! It’s just a matter of getting an id and a password.

Way to go ladies! I am a bit out of the loop since the baby but this blog is really coming along nicely. I am certain you are both excellent bloggers because of your amazing facilitator in study circles, right?!? Keep up the excellent work and you know I am in front of a keyboard a lot these days if you need some extra help, okay? It all about getting the good word out and this blog can reach the whole wide world. Pat yourself on the back for a good running start…

    John and Mary,

So glad you blogged, and we’d love to have you come to Sunday’s event to find out more about what’s happening with the Horizons’ program. Amy’s right, the Montrose AREA residents are invited to this–not just the city residents. We’d love to have your input.

We need more bloggers to be putting in material, so if you would like to find out how, please let Amy or I know. We’d gladly get more people on board to help us out. Hard for the two of us to find the time to do all that we’d like to with this blog.

    Thanks again for checking in!

    Connie
